Jim Gavarone and his business partner Jim Kelley opened the original Mister Spots in Bowling Green, Ohio back in February 1985. After quick success, they then opened an Ann Arbor location in November 1986 - currently owned and operated by high school and college friends Keith McKendry and Tim Wojcik. Named after his cat, Mister Spots was Gavarone's way of paying homage to an authentic wing and sandwich restaurant like back in his hometown of Philadelphia. Mister Spots was one of the very first restaurants to sell buffalo wings in the midwest. From the fresh Amoroso's rolls shipped in from Philadelphia to special ordered Italian meats to being deemed the "King of Wings," Mister Spots is one of the all-time favorites in Bowling Green and Ann Arbor alike.
